Emote Storm

Let your chat's emotes rain, storm and pop across the whole overlay as viewers type them.

Emote Storm turns chat into a show. Every emote your viewers post flies across your overlay: falling like rain, blown by wind, popping up from below or parading across the screen. Repeated emotes stack into combos that grow and pop.

It reads Twitch and Kick emotes plus 7TV, BTTV and FFZ. Like Confetti it is a full-screen effect, so it lives in the Quick-Fire Deck rather than the Add menu and never takes up a layer.

Set it up

  1. Open the Quick-Fire Deck in the editor toolbar (or press Q).

  2. In the Effects section, click the gear button next to Emote Storm. The settings card opens.

  3. Pick a Storm mode and check Chat channels and Emote sources.

  4. Click Fire test to try it on the canvas.

Storm modes

ModeWhat happens
RainEmotes fall and fade
StormWind and gusts, fast spins
BombEach message pops out from the bottom center
SweepA parade across the stage

Combo stacking makes repeated emotes grow and pop. Max emotes on screen, Emote lifetime (seconds) and Emote size keep things readable when chat goes wild.

Fire it yourself

The Effects section has four buttons, also available on your phone Deck and on a Stream Deck:

  • Emote Bomb drops a burst of your channel emotes
  • Sweep clears every emote off the screen
  • Sample Drops drops a small shower of emotes
  • Sample Combo sparks a combo with a random emote

You and your mods can do the same in chat with !emotebomb, !emotesweep, !emoterain and !emotecombo.

If your channel emotes are not available, the editor uses sample emotes for tests.

Tips

  • Emote Bomb count sets how many emotes a bomb drops.
  • Intensity scales the bomb and how many emotes stay on screen.
  • Add a Sound for bombs and combo bursts. Empty means silence.
  • Want to show which emotes chat uses most instead? Try the Emote Counter.

Styles

Pick a style under Sprite style in the settings card: Plain, Glow, Outline.
